Hi, I have been a Heretic for a little while now and I was just wondering if anyone could give me any information on when (or if) I get better summons?

If someone could tell me the next summon after imps and possibly what level I get it on, it would be very much appreciated; so me and my friend know when we can move on to killing bigger things. :D

You get a new summon very often, like every level at the beginning. It's based on magery, but you have to be able to control them, so it depends on your level as well. The next summon after imp is a gremlin and after it could be the night clan warrior. You'll see for yourself, there's really plenty of them. So just keep raising magery in fights while exping and the summons will start popping up. You should also learn how to use the blade spirit properly, as soon as you can cast it. It's a dangerous spell and requires some practice, but surely one of the best at lower levels, WHEN YOU'RE ALONE!*

Cool, thanks for the information.

I have been a heretic since level 8 and I am on level 12 now still no new summons, so hopefully I get one soon....

And yes, Blade Spirit has been serving me and my friend well so far. :D

Just one last question: is it your herding skill that decides how many summons you can control? Also, do new summons show up on the summon window even if your magery is too low to cast them?

If you have lvl 12 maximum magery you should have something like six summons. Train it and you get new pets :) New summon usually requires previous levels maximum magery + 1%. You get new summon every level till lvl 21. After that you still get new ones but not for every lvl.

And yes, herding determines which summons you can control and how many.

No, herding has nothing to do with summon control. This control depends purely on yoru level and can be raised with magical items with the "summon command" property. However, these items belong to the most expensive magics on Endor. Herding affects only control of animals, pets, so it's important onyl for druids and rangers.

Oh... I always thought it was herding which afffected to summon control. After all herding increases with summons. I knew about summon control items though. 1 summon control equals to 1 lvl?

Ok, thanks for all the help guys.

My magery is by far my slowest growing skill, is there certain spells I should be using that raise it faster?

I usually cast poison because it's a 4th level spell and I usually fail when I try 5th level spells like Blade Spirit and Mind Blast.

for my necromancer, the best spell to train with (also with afk macro for example) was invisibility (#144). But I'm not sure what's it's level now.

A question about heretic's abilities:

How to begin training armed casting as it is stuck on the 27.5. I have tried multiple armour sets but it just doesnt gain. What's the problem (NO IM NOT HUNGRY...)

If you want to train armedcast, you must cast thru heavy armor. The worst armor for casting is probably a gorinit plate. So clothe the gorinit plate and then cast any quick spells. F.e. Arrow or Harm. No matter how difficult spell is it. It must be only something quick, for quick gain of armedcast skill.

I have realised that a few weeks ago I wrote some useful information about heretic's cursing summons to the czech section of the forum and I have totally forgotten to write it here too! So now I am going to set it right.

A player reported, that it seems to him that the minor versions of cursing demons do exactly the same as the "big" versions and he was right! That obviously wasn't OK, so here's the result - I will describe it quite in detail, beacuse you have no other way how to get to know all the effects, that cursing summons have:

minor succubus + succubus:
- they lower NPC's intelligence and wisdom, lower skill magic resistance and EI and give a mystic parasite (one-shot vulnerability to magic)

minor demon, evil eye:
- they lower NPC's strength, dexterity, constitution and skill tactics and give a ravageous prasite (one-shot vulnerability to melee attacks)

The minor versions of demons do all these effects weaker than big versions. The minors give a parasite just like a heretic 30 lvl with full skills, the bigs 2x better.

Other info:
- the stat curse depends on NPC's stats (the bigger value the stat has, the bigger the curse is)
- the skill curse is roughly the same as from a player (spells confusion, defiance, shivers)
- draining resistance lowers the effect of parasites, so NPCs with the draining immunity aren't affected at all (undeads...)

is the mana regeration spells worth becoming a heretic for? honestly im not that interested in summoning. reliance on npcs is weak. :P the mana regeration spells. is that, staanding alone, worth becoming a heretic?

How do you know? Do you have 40lvl heretic, to be able to really say this because of vast experience?
