Tonokki is right, lvl 1 is enough for becoming a druid. BUT you have to gain this lvl by your classmaster - in your case it is Cameleo, the classmaster of wanderes, which sits somewhere in front of the gates of each bigger city (read in-game help, it's all there !). You won't gain a level just by having enough experience points, you gain it when you have enough exps AND visit your classmaster, say "level" to him and pay some money for it. But don't worry, the first level is for free and the next few ones are quite cheap (

I don't think that the beginning game phase, when you must kill birds or other very weak creatures is long - you need exactly 6 birds to have exps for lvl 1. Then you go to the druids guild (some player may help you to get there or you pay 50gp for a ship to the guild), become a druid and immediately you can start to use some staff for fighting and tame some basic pets, which help you in fight (

To get the most basic equip, you can continue to kill some birds for feathers or other animals for hides & raw ribs or you can do some newbie quests (you usually get a little money for it) or just ask some players in Daugas - if you are polite (and a little bit lucky

) it's not a big problem. Or you can directly contact our foreign players community, I think they would be helpful.
It's most convenient to continue to kill various animals till I don't know 3-5 lvl, when you should already know the most basic stuff about how things work on Endor. You should also have already some money for basic equip, your skills trained at least a bit and so be prepared to enter Daugas sewers, where your learning can continue.
But, before all, i strongly recommend you to read the in-game help carefully. There are many useful information for you and by reading it, you save yourself from many misunderstandings and needless deaths and losses.
